Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) that was designed to help people change self-defeating patterns associated with borderline personality disorders (BPD). However, DBT is now being used to effectively treat anxiety, manage stress, alleviate depressive symptoms, and improve relationships.

At Davenport Creative Arts Therapy, we treat Depression, Anxiety & Trauma by infusing Mindfulness with Art Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills training to promote growth, reconnection and resilience.

Learning DBT Skills can help you to regulate intense emotions by learning effective techniques to produce significant and long-lasting change. Focus will be placed on decreasing the frequency and severity of unhelpful behaviors while also emphasizing your strengths and translating helpful skills into your everyday life. Clients who are well suited for DBT Skills Training may be asked to use DBT Diary Cards.

At Davenport Creative Arts Therapy, we are all DBT-informed providers. All therapists have completed a minimum of 5-days of in-person DBT training and receive weekly DBT-informed supervision with Emily Davenport.

Please note that We are not part of an adherent DBT program as we do not provide standardized phone coaching, skills groups nor are we part of an adherent consultation team at this time. Please contact us for DBT adherent referrals.

We’d love to hear from you.
